What happened

Prevost Cars, Inc. is recalling certain Kidde Plastic-Handle and Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that were sold as accessory equipment for coaches. These fire extinguishers may become clogged and fail to discharge properly, or they may require excessive force to activate. In some models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and make the product inoperable. If a fire extinguisher does not function properly during a fire, it increases the risk of injury.

Owners of affected fire extinguishers should contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046 or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-271-0773, or visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Prevost will notify owners and provide instructions to contact Kidde for a free replacement fire extinguisher. A full list of affected models is available at https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf, and Prevost's recall number is SR17-31.
