KIDDE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc. is recalling 134 models of plastic-handle fire extinguishers and eight models of push button pindicator fire extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, which can prevent them from discharging properly or require excessive force to activate. In certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and make the product unusable. The hazard is that a fire extinguisher that does not function properly increases the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
If you own one of the affected extinguishers, you should contact Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540 or visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Kidde will provide a replacement fire extinguisher to you free of charge. For a full list of affected models, visit https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf.
