KIDDE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain Kidde Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers sold as accessory equipment for Volvo trucks because they may not function properly during a fire. The extinguishers may become clogged and fail to discharge, require excessive force to activate, or have a nozzle that can detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and make the product inoperable. If a fire extinguisher does not function properly, it increases the risk of injury to the vehicle operator.
Owners should contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-528-6586 or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540 to arrange a free replacement fire extinguisher. Additional information and a list of affected models are available online at www.kidde.com by clicking on "Product Safety Recall," or by visiting https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf.
