What happened

Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company is recalling certain 2015-2017 Flatbed trailers, model FS2CHA, that were manufactured between January 1, 2015, and September 16, 2016, and are equipped with Conestoga XP sliding trailer tarping systems with RAD-style rear closures. The rear aerodynamic device (RAD) on these trailers may separate from the tarping system due to rivet failure, which could create a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.

Utility will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will replace the mounting rivets with a bolted connection at no charge. The recall began on September 20, 2016. Owners of affected trailers should contact Utility customer service at 1-818-965-1541.
