What happened

REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Road Rescue Specialty Vehicle, Ultramedic, Promedic, Duramedic, Metromedic, and Transmedic emergency vehicles manufactured between January 1, 2010, and May 1, 2016. These vehicles contain Class 1 ES-Key power control modules made by Hale Products that may not provide sufficient circuit protection due to their combination of software and installation. A short circuit in these modules may cause damage to the vehicle's electrical system, potentially resulting in loss of headlights and increased crash risk, and may also increase the risk of fire.

To remedy this issue, REV will notify owners, and dealers will upgrade the software or retrofit fuses at no charge. The recall began on November 20, 2016. Affected owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-628-8178 or Hale Products Customer Service Center at 1-800-533-3569 or halecustomerservice@idexcorp.com. The recall number is #16-E038.

Hazard

A short circuit may result in damage to components of the vehicle's electrical system, affecting their function such as causing a loss of headlights, increasing the risk of a crash. A short circuit may also increase the risk of a fire.

(REV) is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Road Rescue Specialty Vehicle, Ultramedic, Promedic, Duramedic, Metromedic and Transmedic emergency vehicles manufactured January 1, 2010, to May 1, 2016.
