What happened

REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. is recalling certain 2017-2018 ambulances from Road Rescue, Marque, Wheeled Coach, Frontline, and McCoy Miller that are equipped with Whelen accessory brake lights. The brake lights may illuminate incorrectly when the brake pedal has not been pressed, which can confuse other drivers and increase the risk of a crash.

Owners of affected ambulances should contact REV customer service at 1-855-661-9232. REV will notify owners, and Whelen will replace the brake lights at no charge.

REV Ambulance Group Orland, Inc. (REV) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Road Rescue, Marque, Wheeled Coach, Frontline, and McCoy Miller Type I and Type III ambulances, equipped with Whelen accessory brake lights. Depending on the specific wiring of the vehicle, these brake lights may illuminate when the brake pedal has not been pressed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
