What happened

New Flyer Industries is recalling certain 2014 NABI 42BRT transit buses manufactured from December 19, 2014, through June 6, 2015, and 2014-2015 NABI 40LFW transit buses manufactured from September 11, 2014, through June 3, 2015. These CNG-powered buses have pressure relief devices (PRDs) that may fail to function as designed and vent pressure buildup that could occur if the CNG tank was exposed to fire.

If a PRD does not activate during a pressure buildup, the CNG tank may explode, increasing the risk of fire and injury. Agility, the supplier of the CNG system, will replace the defective PRDs free of charge. Affected bus owners should contact New Flyer customer service at 1-204-224-1251 and reference recall number R15-012.
