What happened

NABI Bus, LLC is recalling certain 2013-2014 model year 31LFW transit buses and 2012-2014 model year 40LFW transit buses equipped with Compressed Natural Gas fuel systems. The issue involves Pressure Relief Devices that are mounted next to the fuel tanks and may cause abrasion to the tanks. This contact could result in a CNG leak, which increases the risk of fire.

NABI will notify owners when the recall begins in September 2014. Dealers will initially install a temporary flexible cover over the Pressure Relief Device as an interim solution. A permanent remedy is still being developed by Agility Fuel Systems, and owners will receive a second notification when the permanent fix becomes available. Affected consumers should contact NABI customer service at 1-256-241-1298 and reference recall number 20145.
