NABI Bus, LLC is recalling certain 2012 31LFW transit buses manufactured between April 28, 2012, and December 16, 2012, and 2008-2013 416 transit buses manufactured between October 30, 2008, and February 15, 2014. These buses may lack a transmission interlock that prevents the wheelchair lift or ramp from being removed from the stowed position unless the transmission is in neutral, creating a hazard where the bus could move unexpectedly if the service brakes fail to hold it, potentially injuring wheelchair lift or ramp users.
NABI will notify owners, and dealers will install a new electrical program free of charge that prevents the lift or ramp from being moved from the stowed position unless the transmission is in neutral. The recall began in November 2014. Affected consumers should contact NABI customer service at 1-256-241-1298 or reference recall number 20146.
