Polaris is recalling certain 2014 and 2015 Victory motorcycle models manufactured between January 22, 2014, and April 25, 2014. The affected models include the Cross Country, Cross Country Eight Ball, Hammer Eight Ball, High Ball, Jackpot, Judge, Ness Cross Country, Vegas Eight Ball, Vision, Boardwalk, and Gunner. These motorcycles have a defect where the crankcase may have been machined incorrectly, creating insufficient clearance between the crankshaft and crankcase. This can cause the engine to unexpectedly seize, which may cause the operator to lose control of the motorcycle and increase the risk of a crash.
Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the crankcase clearance free of charge. The recall began on May 20, 2014. Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycle until the recall remedy has been performed. Owners should contact Polaris customer service at 1-888-704-5290 to arrange service at an authorized dealer.
