What happened

Coach and Equipment Mfg. Corp. is recalling certain 2013 Metro Lite transit buses (manufactured May through June 2013) and Phoenix transit buses (manufactured March through April 2013) equipped with Ricon S-series or K-series wheelchair lifts that have an optional armored pendant cable. If the cable does not clear the wheelchair lift properly, it may contact the power lug. If the cable lacks a nonconductive cover or has an improperly installed cover, a short circuit could occur and potentially cause a fire.

Consumers with affected buses should contact Coach and Equipment customer service at 1-315-536-2321, Ricon Customer Service at 1-800-322-2884, or email recall.admin@wabtec.com.
