2013 HARLEY-DAVIDSON VRSCDX; 2012 HARLEY-DAVIDSON VRSCDX
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Harley-Davidson is recalling all model year 2012 and certain model year 2013 VRSCDX motorcycles manufactured between June 14, 2011, and August 1, 2012. The license plate bracket assembly's mounting screws may loosen, causing the assembly to separate from the rear fender. If the bracket contacts the rear tire, it could rotate and damage the rear brake line, which may impair rear brake performance and increase the risk of a crash.
To resolve this issue, Harley-Davidson will notify owners and dealers will inspect and repair affected motorcycles at no cost to the owner. The safety recall began on November 6, 2012. Owners of affected motorcycles should contact Harley-Davidson at 1-414-343-4056.
