What happened

Spartan Motors USA is recalling certain 2017 Gladiator and K3 motorhome chassis manufactured between April 18, 2016, and June 7, 2016, that are equipped with Cummins ISX15 engines. These vehicles may have engine control modules (ECM) with an internal electrical short that can cause a fuse to blow, leading to unexpected engine stalling without the ability to restart, which increases the risk of a crash.

Spartan will notify owners, and Cummins dealers will replace the defective ECM with a remedy part at no cost. The recall began on June 9, 2016. Affected consumers should contact Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-5008 and reference recall number 16016.
