What happened

Spartan Motors is recalling certain 2013-2015 model year vehicles including Gladiator, DR, K2, K3, MetroStar, MM, and NVS models manufactured between December 14, 2011, and October 21, 2014. These vehicles are equipped with certain Wabco Quick Release Valves with Double Check where the rubber diaphragm may be damaged by sharp edges on the valve seat ribs. This damage can reduce air pressure in the air tanks, which may reduce braking performance and could cause parking brakes to reapply unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Spartan will notify owners of affected vehicles, and authorized dealers will inspect and replace the valve at no charge. Owners of potentially affected vehicles should contact Spartan customer service at 1-517-543-6400 and reference recall number 14021 to determine if their vehicle is included in this recall and to schedule service.
