2015 SPARTAN GLADIATOR; 2015 SPARTAN METROSTAR
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Spartan Motors is recalling certain 2015 Gladiator and MetroStar Emergency Response vehicles manufactured between June 3, 2015, and March 16, 2016, that are equipped with fire-fighting pumps. The 6-inch intake strainers on these pumps may have been improperly soldered during production, which could cause them to fall apart during use and allow strainer parts and debris to enter the pump.
If the strainer and debris enter the pump, operators may be forced to shut down the pump, reducing its effectiveness in fighting fires and potentially increasing the risk of injury. According to the recall, affected owners should contact either Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-5008 or Hale Products Customer Service Center at 1-800-533-3569 to have their strainer checked for missing solder at the joints. Any strainers found to be missing solder will be replaced at no cost. The recall number is 16012.
