McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling certain concrete mixers and refuse trucks from model years 2013-2015 that were manufactured between August 1, 2013, and May 14, 2015. These vehicles are equipped with Kidde plastic valve disposable handheld fire extinguishers that may not properly discharge when the lever is pressed, creating a fire safety risk.
McNeilus will notify owners and provide instructions from Kidde to inspect their fire extinguishers. Kidde will replace any defective fire extinguishers at no cost. Owners of affected vehicles should contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278 for more information about the recall.

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not work correctly, there is an increased risk of injury.
McNeilus will notify owners, and advise them to follow the provided instructions from Kidde to inspect their fire extinguishers. Kidde will replace the fire extinguishers as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on October 19, 2015. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278.
