Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Yamaha is recalling certain 2015 model year motorcycles including the FJ-09, FZ-09, FZ6R, Super Tenere, Super Tenere ES, and R6 models manufactured between September 1, 2014, and November 17, 2014. These motorcycles may have a defective shift cam segment stopper with a sharp edge instead of a smooth radius, which can cause the stopper to crack or fracture.
If the stopper fractures, the transmission may not shift properly, which increases the risk of a crash. Yamaha will notify owners, and dealers will replace the shift shaft assembly at no cost. The recall began on April 6, 2015. Owners should contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926.
