Ohlins Racing AB is recalling certain steering damper kits sold as aftermarket equipment for motorcycles including Honda CB600RR, Yamaha R1, R6, and FZ6, Suzuki TL1000 R and GSX1300R, and various Ducati models, as well as universal steering damper kits with part numbers SD 000 through SD 005. These kits were manufactured with an incorrectly machined bracket that may crack.
If the steering bracket cracks, it may cause the steering to lock at low speeds, potentially leading to personal injury or a crash. Ohlins will notify distributors and provide customers with a replacement bracket. The recall began in November 2013, and affected owners may contact Ohlins USA at 1-828-692-4525 to obtain the replacement part.
