2013 PREVOST H3-45

  • Brand PREVOST

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Prevost is recalling one model year 2013 H3-45 coach bus manufactured between November 14, 2011, and July 3, 2012. The transmission in the affected bus has incorrect software and may not lock to prevent movement while the wheelchair lift door is open. If the parking brake lock fails when the wheelchair lift door is open, the bus may move unexpectedly, posing an injury risk. The bus does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 403 requirements for platform lift systems.

Prevost will reprogram the transmission at no charge to owners. Owners of affected buses should contact Prevost at 1-418-883-2888 x 6558 and reference recall campaign number SR13-25.

Hazard

Without the transmission locking to prevent movement, if the parking brake lock fails while the wheelchair lift door is open, the bus may unexpectedly move, increasing the risk of injury.

Prevost has notified the owner, and the transmission is being reprogrammed, free of charge. Owners may contact Prevost at 1-418-883-2888 x 6558. Prevost's campaign recall number is SR13-25.
