What happened

Prevost Car (US) Inc. is recalling certain 2013 X3-45 Entertainer coach shells and 2014 X3-45 highway coaches manufactured between October 9, 2012, and June 6, 2013. The tail lamps on these vehicles are receiving improper voltage, causing them to be excessively bright and exceed federal safety standards. This excessive brightness may cause drivers following these coaches to mistake the tail lamps for brake lamps, potentially leading to confusion about braking intentions and increasing crash risk.

Prevost will notify owners and dealers will update the lamp controller software free of charge to ensure the correct voltage reaches the affected lamps. The recall began on August 22, 2013. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Prevost at 1-336-393-2233 to arrange the software update.
