What happened

Prevost Car (US) Inc. is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 coaches, including X3-45, H3-41, H3-45, X3-45 VIP, H3-45 VIP, and XLII-45 Entertainer models manufactured between May 16, 2007, and March 14, 2013, that are equipped with Volvo engines. In these vehicles, a software condition may cause the throttle to become stuck at 1700 RPMs regardless of driver input, preventing normal speed control and potentially causing a loss of vehicle control and crash risk.

Prevost will notify owners and remedy the problem free of charge. Dealers will perform the necessary repairs on affected coaches. Owners may contact Prevost at 1-418-831-2046 for more information about the recall, which began on May 2, 2013.
