What happened

Prevost is recalling certain 2011-2012 X3-45 coach buses manufactured between June 3, 2010, and August 25, 2011, that are equipped with an Automatic Fire Detection and Suppression System (AFSS). In these vehicles, the AFSS storage tank is located in the engine compartment where high temperatures may cause the pressure relief valve to release the tank's contents, preventing the system from operating as designed in the event of a fire.

This malfunction increases the risk of injury to coach occupants if a fire occurs. Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will relocate the extinguisher storage tank at no charge. The recall began on December 19, 2012. Affected consumers should contact Prevost at 1-418-883-2888 x 6558.
