PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana is recalling certain Achilles Desert Hawk A/P light truck tires in three sizes produced between January 2010 and November 2011, and Radar Radial RLT-9 light truck radial tires produced from December 30, 2009, through January 31, 2011. The Achilles tires may experience blistering on the lower sidewall due to a narrow bead design, while the Radar tires may experience tread separation due to defective sidewall design. Both defects may cause sudden loss of air, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
The company will notify owners and replace the affected tires with similar tires at no charge. The recall began on April 17, 2012. Affected consumers should contact PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana Customer Hotline at 1-800-944-8414 to arrange the replacement.

MULTISTRADA ARAH SARANA IS RECALLING CERTAIN ACHILLES DESERT HAWK A/P LIGHT TRUCK TIRES, SIZES LT215/85R16 115/112L 10PR, LT235/85R16 120/116L 10PR, LT225/75R16 115/112L 10PR, PRODUCED BETWEEN JANUARY 2010 AND NOVEMBER 2011, AND RADAR RADIAL RLT-9 LIGHT TRUCK RADIAL TIRES PRODUCED FROM DECEMBER 30, 2009, THROUGH JANUARY 31, 2011. THE ACHILLES TIRES WERE PRODUCED WITH A NARROW BEAD DESIGN WHICH CAN CAUSE BLISTERING ON THE LOWER SIDEWALL. THE RADAR TIRES HAVE DEFECTIVE SIDEWALL DESIGN WHICH MAY LEAD TO TREAD SEPARATION. ACCORDINGLY, THE TIRES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 139, "NEW PNEUMATIC RADIAL TIRES FOR LIGHT VEHICLES."
