Is my product affected?

2011 GOOSENECK TANDEM DUAL

  • Brand GOOSENECK

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Maxey Trailers is recalling certain 2011 gooseneck tandem dual flatbed trailers manufactured between September 2011 and December 2011 that are equipped with Dexter Axle electric/hydraulic (E/H) brake actuator pumps. Some of these pumps may not have been properly heat treated, which can cause premature wear of critical internal components and render the pump inoperable. The E/H brake actuator provides braking power to the trailer brakes, and failure of this component can result in loss of braking effort and increase the risk of a crash.

Maxey Trailers mailed recall notices to owners on April 2, 2012. Owners should contact Maxey Trailers at 1-903-784-8059. Dexter Axle dealers will replace the E/H brake actuator pumps free of charge.

Hazard

THE E/H BRAKE ACTUATOR PROVIDES BRAKING POWER TO THE TRAILER BRAKES. FAILURE OF THE ACTUATOR CAN RESULT IN THE LOSS OF BRAKING EFFORT BY THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

What should I do?

MAXEY TRAILERS MAILED NOTICES OF THE RECALL TO OWNERS ON APRIL 2, 2012. DEXTER AXLE DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE E/H BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMPS FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MAXEY TRAILERS AT 1-903-784-8059.
