Trans Tech Bus is recalling certain MFSAB school buses due to a structural defect involving roof panel joints. The affected buses lack proper structural adhesive on certain interior and exterior roof body panel joints, which means the roof panels and joints may not absorb impact during a vehicle crash and could open up, increasing the risk of death or serious injury to occupants.
TCI is currently developing a remedy and will supply owners with repair parts and instructions at no charge. The company will assist owners with scheduling repairs and locating authorized repair facilities. Affected owners should contact TCI at 1-845-988-2333 for more information. TCI will provide specific details about which bus models and production dates are affected once that determination has been made.

TCI IS CURRENTLY DEVELOPING THE REMEDY FOR THIS NONCOMPLIANCE. OWNERS WILL BE SUPPLIED WITH THE PARTS AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REPAIR ANY AFFECTED VEHICLE(S). TCI WILL ASSIST ALL OWNERS WITH SCHEDULING REPAIRS AND LOCATING AUTHORIZED REPAIR FACILITIES. ANY REPAIRS WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TCI AT 1-845-988-2333.
TRANSTECH BUS (TCI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MFSAB SCHOOL BUSES FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE JOINT STRENGTH REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 221, "SCHOOL BUS BODY JOINT STRENGTH." THE AFFECTED BUSES DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE ON CERTAIN INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR ROOF BODY PANEL JOINTS. TCI WILL PROVIDE THE SPECIFIC BUS MODELS BY MODEL YEAR AND DATES OF PRODUCTION ONCE THEY HAVE DETERMINED WHICH BUSES ARE AFFECTED BY THE NONCOMPLAINCE.
