What happened

Transportation Collaborative Inc. (TCI) is recalling certain 2009 and 2010 school buses built on Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana chassis manufactured between February 2009 and April 15, 2010. The HVAC control knobs on these buses may fracture and spin on the control shaft, preventing the operator from controlling the defrost system. If the defrost system cannot be operated when needed, driver visibility may decrease, potentially resulting in a crash.

TCI will notify owners, and dealers will repair the buses at no charge. The recall began on April 29, 2010. Owners of affected buses should contact TCI at 1-845-988-0419.
