What happened

Trans Tech Bus is recalling certain 2008 and 2009 school buses (models Rondak 4F+9, Q86-5, and STH5) manufactured between February 1, 2008, and June 1, 2009, that are equipped with Freedman Seating Company 33 1/2" school bus barriers (part number 15198). These barriers do not meet federal safety standards and in a crash, a passenger's knee could make contact with the rear surface of the barrier, potentially causing personal injury.

Transportation Collaborative, Inc. will notify bus owners and repair the buses at no cost. The recall began on April 5, 2010. Owners of affected buses should contact Trans Tech at 1-845-988-2333 to arrange for the repair.
