Rich brand hair styling products were recalled because they contain methylisothiazolinone (MI), an ingredient prohibited in leave-on cosmetic products under the Cosmetic Products Regulation. MI can cause allergic contact dermatitis in people who are sensitized to it. The affected products include Pure Luxury Energising Multi-Style Gel (100 ml black tube with yellow lettering), Pure Luxury Argan Volumising Mousse (200 ml yellow bottle with black lettering), and Pure Luxury Texture Paste (80 ml black pot with yellow lettering).
Distributors were ordered to withdraw these products from the market effective July 13, 2017. The source does not specify what affected consumers should do with products they have already purchased.
