What happened

Niles Audio has recalled the iRemoteTS and iC2 remote control systems due to a fire hazard. If the battery falls from the remote during handling, it can rupture and smoke or ignite. The iRemoteTS measures 5.4 by 6.2 by 1.25 inches with the Niles logo in the top-left corner, while the iC2 measures 5.2 by 3 by 7.5 inches with "iC2" and the Niles logo printed on its front.

According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled remote control systems and contact Niles Audio to schedule an in-home repair. Niles Audio will provide a replacement battery and a more secure battery cover at no cost, and consumers should not attempt to open the battery compartment themselves.
