Cordless Stick Vacuums Recalled by Electrolux Home Care Products Due to Bursting Batteries

What happened

Electrolux Home Care Products is recalling 2-in-1 cordless stick vacuums because the battery can expand and burst, which may injure the user or people nearby. The recalled models include the Pronto (EL1000A, EL1000B, EL1000BX, EL1000BZ), Precision (PE1000B), and Ergorapido (EL1005A, EL1006A) vacuums. The affected units have "VOLTS 9.6V D.C." printed on a serial plate on the underside of the handheld unit and serial numbers between 074000001 through 085100001 or 74000001 through 85100001.

If you own one of these vacuums, you should immediately stop using it and unplug it. Contact Electrolux to receive a free replacement of the handheld portion that contains the batteries.
