During extended broiling, gas can accumulate inside the oven cavity and escape when the door is opened, creating a burn hazard and potential fire risk to consumers. The recall affects specific model numbers (790.30472400, 790.30473400, 790.30473401, 790.30474400, and 790.30479400) with serial numbers ranging from NF401xxxxx through NF610xxxxx, which can be verified on the frame inside the left side of the oven cavity.
Consumers with recalled ovens should immediately stop using the broil feature but may continue using the bake feature. Affected consumers should contact Transform for Kenmore branded products to schedule a free repair.
