What happened

Homelite leaf blowers sold at Home Depot are being recalled because they are missing the doors that cover the vacuum inlet, which exposes the fan blade and creates a risk of finger cuts to users. The recalled blower is a red device with a black nozzle weighing about 10 pounds, with "Homelite" printed on top and model number UT08542 or UT08542A listed on the operator's manual. The device is used outdoors to blow, vacuum, or mulch leaves and includes a bag for collecting debris.

According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately stop using the blower and return it to a Home Depot store, where they can receive either a replacement blower or a full refund.
