What happened

Bradley Technologies is recalling electric smokers in two models: the BTST02 (stainless steel) and BTIS1 (black). These units contain a smoke generator, smoke tower, and two power cords—one that plugs into a wall socket and another with prongs on both ends that connects the generator to the smoker. There is an electric shock hazard if the unit is plugged into the wall and one end of the connecting cord becomes unplugged. The recall affects black smokers with serial numbers ranging from 0508000110000001 to 0508000110000354, 0508000113000001 to 0508000113000294, or 0508000116000001 to 0508000116000354, and stainless steel smokers with serial numbers ranging from 0508000111000001 to 0508000111000354. Model numbers and serial numbers appear on silver labels on the back of each unit.

According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using these smokers and contact Bradley Technologies (Canada) Inc. to confirm whether their smoker is part of the recall. Bradley Technologies will provide a free replacement smoker to affected consumers.

Hazard

In addition to the electric cord that plugs into the wall, these units have an electric cord with prongs on both ends that connect the generator to the smoker. If the unit is plugged into the wall socket and one end of the connecting cord is unplugged, there is an electric shock hazard.

The recalled electric smokers include models BTST02 (stainless steel) and BTIS1 (black) and consist of a smoke generator, a smoke tower and two power cords. The model number appears on a silver label on the back of the smoker. The products have a "Bradley Smoker" logo on the door and at the bottom, under the red light "Power Indicator." The recalled black smokers contain one of the following serial numbers: 0508000110000001 to 0508000110000354 0508000113000001 to 0508000113000294 0508000116000001 to 0508000116000354 The recalled stainless steel smokers contain one of the following serial numbers: 0508000111000001 to 0508000111000354. The serial number appears on a label on the back of each smoker.
