What happened

Technical Consumer Products Inc. has recalled certain 32-watt, 3-way compact fluorescent light bulbs sold under the Commercial Electric brand at Home Depot and the DuraBright brand at Orchard Supply Hardware. The bulbs, which are approximately seven inches tall with a white spiral tube and white plastic base, can overheat and spark, creating a burn hazard. The recall affects bulbs with item numbers 283-924, 575-717, and 69032, which are printed on the back of the packaging and on the base of the bulb.

Consumers who own affected bulbs should stop using them immediately and contact Technical Consumer Products for either a free replacement bulb or a gift card.

The following item numbers, which can be found on the back of the packaging and the base of the bulb, are included in the recall: 283-924, 575-717, and 69032.
