What happened

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 recreational trailers and fifth wheels from multiple brands including Coachmen, East to West, Forest River, Prime Time, and Shasta models. The electric retractable awnings on these vehicles have a welded seam on the fabric that may separate, which could cause the awning to drop or extend beyond its normal operation, creating an injury risk.

Dealers will replace the fabric roll or complete awning at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 17, 2022. Affected consumers should contact the customer service numbers listed in their recall notice for their specific model, or contact Forest River's customer service using recall number 51-1532.
