Volvo Car USA is recalling certain 2021 model year XC40, XC40 Recharge, V60CC, V90, V90CC, and XC90 vehicles, as well as 2021-2022 model year V60, XC60, and S60 vehicles. The seat belt automatic locking retractors in these vehicles may deactivate early, which can prevent child restraint systems from securing properly during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Volvo Car dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assemblies at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 13, 2021.
