What happened

Volvo is recalling certain 2007-2020 model year vehicles including the V70, XC70, S80, S60, V60, S60 Cross Country, S60L, S80L, XC60, and V60 Cross Country. The flexible steel cable connecting the seat belt to the front outboard seating positions can fatigue over time, potentially causing the seat belt to fail to secure an occupant during a crash, which increases injury risk.

Volvo will notify owners and replace the seat belt anchor cable for both front seats at no charge through authorized dealers. The recall began December 10, 2020. Affected consumers should contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-1552 and reference recall number R10029 to arrange service.
