What happened

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2014-2020 model year vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof, including C-Class, CLA-Class, GLA-Class, GLC-Class, GLE-Class, and S-Class models. The front roof panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof may not have been bonded correctly to the vehicle during a prior repair, which could cause the adhesive bonding to deteriorate and allow the front panel to detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz dealers will remove the bonded panel and install a new front panel free of charge using approved primer, cleaner, and adhesive according to detailed repair instructions. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 3, 2021 and October 26, 2021. According to the record, affected consumers should contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
