Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain Freightliner Custom Chassis recreational vehicle chassis from model years 2016-2023 due to a defect in the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module that may cause rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals to stop working. Non-functioning lighting reduces a vehicle's visibility to other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash. The recalled models include XBP, XBR, XBS, XCL, XCM, XCP, XCR, and XCS chassis.
To remedy the defect, dealers will install a secondary fused harness at no cost to the owner. Notification letters were mailed on March 18, 2022. Owners should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 to arrange the repair, referencing recall number FL917. Owners of vehicles previously recalled under NHTSA recalls 20V-404 or 18V-502 will need to return for the new remedy repair once it becomes available.

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018 Freightliner Custom Chassis XBP, 2017-2020 XBR, 2017-2022 XBS, 2016-2019 XCL, 2016-2023 XCM, 2017-2021 XCP, 2016-2023 XCR, and 2017-2023 XCS recreational vehicle chassis. The rear mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM) may have internal damage, which could result in the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals not functioning.
