Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2019-2020 Freightliner Custom Chass XBA Chassis equipped with Cummins B6.7N engines due to a software calibration issue in the engine control module. The faulty calibration may prevent the engine from properly limiting speed and torque, which could impair critical safety functions including vehicle braking, traction control, stability control, speed control, and collision avoidance systems, thereby increasing crash risk.
To remedy the issue, Cummins dealers will recalibrate the engine control module at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 29, 2021. If you own an affected vehicle, you should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 or reference recall number FL-879 when scheduling service.
