What happened

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2021 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley electric school buses due to a parking brake defect. If a driver presses and releases the service brake pedal while the parking brake is engaged, the parking brake may disengage unexpectedly. This could cause the vehicle to roll freely without the driver continuously applying the service brake, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000 and reference recall number FL-870 to schedule the software update with a dealer.
