What happened

Daimler Trucks North America LLC is recalling certain 2008-2021 Thomas Built Buses Minotour school buses because the driver may be able to release the park brake and shift the transmission into drive while the wheelchair lift is deployed. This creates a hazard where the vehicle could move forward or backward, increasing the risk of injury.

To remedy this issue, dealers will modify the wheelchair lift wiring at no cost to owners. DTNA notified owners on January 6, 2021, and mailed owner notification letters on May 19, 2021. Owners should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 to schedule the repair, and can reference DTNA recall number FL-868.
