2019 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE; 2019 DODGE DURANGO
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Chrysler is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles because the front differential may contain pinion gears that were not properly hardened during manufacturing. If the gear teeth on both pinion gears wear down excessively, the differential cannot transfer power from the front wheels to the driveline, which can cause sudden loss of power while driving or loss of the transmission's PARK function when the vehicle is stationary. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify affected owners, and dealers will replace the front differential at no cost. The recall began on May 21, 2020. Owners of potentially affected vehicles should contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall number W22.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. The front differential may have been assembled with pinion gears that are insufficiently hardened, which can lead to the gear teeth wearing down. If both pinion gears have their teeth sufficiently worn off, torque power can not be transferred from the front wheels to the driveline, resulting in loss of power while driving and loss of the PARK function when stationary.
