What happened

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles that do not have automatic high beams. On these vehicles, when the master lighting switch is in the auto position, the high beam headlights will not activate unless the switch is first moved to the "on" position. This difficulty activating high beams may reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Owners who received notification letters mailed on October 28, 2021 should contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 to schedule service. Dealers will reprogram the vehicles at no charge to fix the problem. The recall number is Y66.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles not equipped with automatic high beams. When the master lighting switch is set to the auto position, the high beam headlights will not activate unless the master lighting switch is first changed to the 'on" position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
