Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2017-2019 Freightliner Cascadia trucks because the Instrument Cluster Unit may not perform required bulb checks for the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) or Electronic Stability Control (ESC) warning lights if the ignition is turned from on to off to on too quickly. If these warning bulb checks do not occur, drivers may be unaware that the warning light bulbs are not working, and therefore may not receive notification if an ABS or ESC malfunction occurs, increasing the risk of a crash.
To remedy this issue, DTNA will notify owners and dealers will reprogram the Instrument Cluster Unit to ensure a bulb check is performed each time the ignition is turned on, at no cost. Vehicles with Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems will also require free replacement parts. An interim notification was issued to owners on September 18, 2018, and the recall began March 5, 2019. Affected consumers should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712, referencing recall number FL-780.
