What happened

Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain 2016-2017 IC Bus CE and RE school buses manufactured between June 2015 and May 2016. These buses may lack reflective outline tape around the emergency exit roof hatches, which makes it harder for emergency personnel to locate and access these exits during an emergency. This deficiency could increase the risk of personal injury or death to passengers in an emergency situation.

To address this issue, Navistar will notify owners and dealers will install the reflective tape around the roof hatches at no charge. The recall began on July 18, 2016. According to the recall record, affected consumers should contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 to arrange the repair, referencing recall number 16505.
