What happened

Gillig LLC is recalling certain 2012-2016 Lowfloor diesel-electric hybrid vehicles manufactured between March 6, 2012, and June 7, 2016, because the brake lights may flash unintentionally. This flashing can confuse other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. The vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for lighting equipment.

If you own an affected vehicle, Gillig will notify you about the recall, and authorized dealers will install a free software update to fix the problem. To learn more or to ensure your vehicle is addressed, you should contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

Gillig will notify owners, and dealers will install a new software update, free of charge. The recall began on July 2016. Owners may contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

Gillig LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 Lowfloor diesel-electric hybrid vehicles manufactured March 6, 2012, to June 7, 2016. The affected vehicles are equipped with stop lamp activation that may inadvertently flash the rear brake lights. As such, these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."
