CARQUEST DOT5 SILICONE BRAKE FLUID
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
American Grease Stick Company is recalling certain bottles of Carquest DOT5 Silicone Brake Fluid manufactured between October 9, 2013, and September 15, 2015. The affected bottles may lack clear display of the minimum wet equilibrium reflux boiling point (ERPB) rating and may not contain the words "Motor Vehicle" on the label where the contents are identified as DOT Brake Fluid, which violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 116. If customers become confused by the incorrect labeling, they might use the wrong brake fluid, potentially resulting in decreased braking performance and increased crash risk.
AGS has notified all known affected purchasers from the previous campaign 15V-093. According to the record, owners should contact AGS customer service at 1-800-253-0403 to have their bottles returned and relabeled with the correct label at no charge. This recall supersedes the earlier recall 15V-093.
