What happened

Federal-Mogul Corporation is recalling certain Carquest, National, and Precision brand wheel hub assemblies (part numbers 515073) that were sold as replacement equipment for 2002 through 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks with two-wheel drive. The inboard roll form in these hub assemblies can fatigue over time, which may result in noise and potentially cause the wheel to separate from the vehicle, creating a crash hazard. This issue does not affect four-wheel drive applications.

Federal-Mogul will notify owners of record and will replace the affected hub assemblies free of charge. The recall began on September 15, 2010. Affected consumers should contact Federal-Mogul at 1-877-489-6659 to arrange for the replacement.
