Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2015-2016 motorhomes built on Ford chassis, including Winnebago Brave, Sightseer, Vista, and Adventurer models, as well as Itasca Tribute, Sunova, Sunstar, and Suncruiser models manufactured between July 13, 2015, and October 6, 2015. These vehicles can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and improper shift cable adjustment, which could cause the vehicle to move unintentionally and increase the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners of the recall, which began November 12, 2015. Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable at no charge. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535 or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
